Lovely picture! I volunteer on Elissa and she's just completed her 2nd Restoration! 
But Elissa did not visit Galveston until 1883 when she brought in a shipment of bananas. She was built in Aberdeen, Scotland. From then she traded off many flags and names. She was purchased by the Galveston Historical Foundation and rescued from the scrap yard in... 1975 I believe. She had to go through several years of repairs before she first sailed as the Tall Ship of Texas in 1985.
